AI-native programmable networks
SDN/NFV, SRv6 service function chaining, VNF/CNF placement, network slicing and deployment-aware orchestration.
I'm Mulat A. Tiruye, a PhD researcher at DISI, University of Trento. I work on intelligent, AI-native 6G systems: O-RAN control, programmable networks and zero-touch orchestration.
BUC-6G is my PhD research line: what it takes to make connectivity intelligent, sustainable and everywhere.
BUC-6G
6G has to connect everywhere: terrestrial and non-terrestrial access, the edge and the cloud. I study how AI-native control and zero-touch automation can run that whole stack as one system, with low latency, good energy efficiency and built-in security.
SDN/NFV, SRv6 service function chaining, VNF/CNF placement, network slicing and deployment-aware orchestration.
AI-driven O-RAN, RIS-assisted links and integrated terrestrial/non-terrestrial access, with QoS and energy in the loop.
Federated learning, TinyML and continual learning with resource-aware scheduling across edge and cloud.
ML-based intrusion detection and zero-touch security orchestration for SDN/NFV-enabled 6G infrastructure.
Testbeds, simulators and orchestration frameworks I've built.
